Love to Give, a non-profit that has been working in Khayamandi for the past 15 years. has gone the extra mile to find assistance for the community. Apart from the 100 families that that they already support, they have also been distributing additional food parcels during this time of crisis.
“Ordinary people doing extra ordinary things are the heroes during these difficult times. There is so much good-will all around, but the truth is that there is a huge need for assistance in Kayamandi. Given that the economy of Stellenbosch is dominated by tourism and farming (grapes/wine) and that tourism and hospitality have been particularly badly hit by the lockdown and going forward, the prospects of a quick recovery is bleak. I encourage everyone who has the means to contribute in any way to give what they can; small or big. All of this adds up and makes a big difference.” Karen Ross of Love to Give.
